Crisp charges one flat monthly price per workspace, with unlimited conversations. Each plan bundles agent seats, a cap on stored customer profiles and a dollar allowance for Hugo, its AI agent. The bill moves when you outgrow a plan's seats or profile cap, or when Hugo keeps talking after its credits are spent.
How the plans step up
- Each step up buys more seats (2, 4, 10, then 20), a higher profile cap and a bigger AI allowance for one flat fee
- Mini adds the shared email inbox to the chat widget. Essentials is where the omnichannel inbox, knowledge base, routing rules and workflow builder start
- The ticketing system, white labelling and the 100+ integrations sit on the Plus card
- Enterprise is quoted after a demo and adds dedicated onboarding, a personalised SLA and team training
- With every seat filled, an agent costs $11.25 on Mini, $9.50 on Essentials and $14.75 on Plus, all billed monthly
What the AI credits buy
- Hugo is included from Mini. Credits are a dollar value that resets each billing cycle, on the 4th of the month
- Usage is token-based, so a long conversation or a large knowledge source costs more than a short one
- Crisp's help center estimates $0.05 to $0.10 per conversation Hugo handles, and the Hugo page's estimator uses $0.05
- The pricing page puts the three allowances at "around" 90, 450 and 1,350 conversations, about 5.6 cents each, near the low end of that range
- A conversation runs from Hugo's first message until it is resolved, routed or escalated
- Workflows don't use credits. Testing, training and the Playground during the trial do
When the credits run out
- By default Hugo stops answering, and new conversations go to your human agents until the credits reset
- With Pay-As-You-Go switched on (AI Agent, then Billing), Hugo keeps answering and the extra usage is billed against a spending limit you set
- Crisp publishes no fixed rate for that extra usage, only the $0.05 to $0.10 estimate
- Pay-As-You-Go may stay unavailable until the trial ends, so the overage path can't be tested before you pay
- Set the limit before a sale weekend's traffic arrives. If Hugo goes quiet mid-promotion, the whole queue lands on people
What the plan price leaves out
- VAT is not included. Businesses with an EU VAT number on file, and businesses outside the EU, aren't charged it; consumers may be
- Seats past Plus's 20 cost $10 a month each
- More customer profiles are a paid extra with no published price, and custom limit increases are open only to Essentials and above. A Mini store that passes 5,000 profiles needs to move up to Essentials
- Sub-inboxes are fixed at 2 on Essentials. Only Plus can raise that limit
- Each workspace connects one account per channel (one Instagram, one WhatsApp Business), email excepted. More accounts need a higher plan, so a second brand often means a second workspace
- Paid integrations for specific systems are sold separately, with no prices published
Annual billing
- Every plan starts on monthly billing. You switch a workspace to yearly in the app after subscribing (Settings, Billing Settings, Plans & Subscriptions)
- Crisp publishes no yearly rate, and its help article on switching names no discount, so you see any saving only after you've signed up
- The full year is charged at the next renewal, in advance, and the prepaid year can't be refunded
- We would run at least one peak month on monthly billing before locking in a year
Discounts and the trial
- 50% off for nonprofits and students, with a promo code requested in chat
- 20% off when you add three more paid Essentials or Plus workspaces, which helps operators running a workspace per brand
- A 14-day free trial of every feature, with no card required
Which plan fits which team
- Up to 4 agents on chat and email with fewer than 5,000 customers on file: Mini, $45 a month billed monthly
- 5 to 10 agents who need WhatsApp, Instagram, routing or a knowledge base: Essentials, $95 a month billed monthly
- 11 agents or more, or a team that needs the ticketing system or white labelling: Plus, $295 a month billed monthly
Worked example: 8 agents on Essentials, billed monthly, with Hugo handling 600 conversations a month
- Plan: $95
- Hugo at Crisp's estimate: 600 × $0.05 = $30, up to 600 × $0.10 = $60
- Less the $25 included credit: $5 to $35 on Pay-As-You-Go
- Total: $100 to $130 a month before VAT, or $12.50 to $16.25 per agent
The 11th agent
- Agent 11 doesn't fit Essentials' 10 seats, and Plus at $295 billed monthly is $200 a month more
- Crisp's pages don't say whether Essentials can buy extra seats. The $10 seat price is listed for Plus, and the limits article says operator increases come "when available for your plan or setup". Get the answer in writing before you hire
- At 25 agents, Plus is $295 + 5 × $10 = $345 a month billed monthly, or $13.80 per agent
