Our verdict
Salesforce is where you end up when the help desk has to answer to procurement, and the price reflects that. The number to hold onto is $195 an agent a month: the $25 and $100 tiers are the general CRM suites, and the dedicated service product starts at Core. From there it runs to $550 for the everything tier. It is the most expensive option in this directory by a wide margin, and for a large organisation already standardised on Salesforce that is often beside the point. For a DTC brand with six agents it is the wrong shape entirely.
Salesforce sells service as part of a platform, not as a help desk, and the pricing page makes that clearer than the marketing does. Two of the five tiers are general CRM suites. The service product proper starts at $195 an agent a month and runs to $550. Read the tier names carefully before you compare this with anything else here.
What it does
- Case management and resolution on the same record as sales, marketing and commerce
- Self-service help centre, AI-powered channels higher up
- Contact centre, employee service and workforce and quality management bundled at the top tier
- Slack is woven through rather than integrated: Slack Business+ with Slackbot is part of Core
- Missing: nothing, at a price
Pricing at a glance
- Starter Suite $25 a user a month - the general CRM suite, not the service product. Billed monthly or annually
- Pro Suite $100 - still the CRM suite. Billed annually, contract required
- Core $195 - where the dedicated service product actually starts. Billed annually
- Advanced $395 - adds AI-powered channels and protected data. Billed annually
- Max $550 - customer service, contact centre and employee service in one, with unmetered agent access
- Starter and Pro Suite are starting prices with transaction fees on top
- Only Starter Suite can be paid monthly. Everything else is an annual commitment
What that means in practice
- A six-agent team on Core is about $14,000 a year before anything else
- The same team on Max is around $39,600
- The $25 headline will be quoted at you in comparisons. It is a different product from the one this page is about
- Max includes 2.75 million Flex Credits per organisation per year and 1GB of data storage per user
Where it is genuinely strong
- Six published currencies - USD, EUR, GBP, AUD, JPY and SEK on the same page. Several vendors in this directory redirect you to a regional price instead, or hide it behind a browser
- Unmetered agent access at Max, where most of this market bills AI per resolution or per conversation
- One platform for service, sales, marketing and commerce, which is the entire argument and a real one at scale
Who should buy
- Organisations already standardised on Salesforce, where the shared platform is the point
- Enterprises needing contact centre and employee service alongside customer service
- Teams whose procurement requires a named contract and enterprise controls
Who should skip it
- Small and mid-sized teams, where the entry price for the actual service product is prohibitive
- Anyone wanting month-to-month billing above the entry suite
- Buyers who need the total cost visible before talking to sales, given transaction fees and starting prices
- DTC brands with a handful of agents, who are not the buyer this is designed for
How we checked this
Tier names, prices and billing terms were read from Salesforce's own service pricing page on 2026-09-25, which publishes all six currencies and states the billing basis, contract requirement and transaction fees per tier. The distinction between the CRM suites and the dedicated service product is Salesforce's own wording on that page. No review-site text was used.
Strengths
- Publishes six currencies side by side - USD, EUR, GBP, AUD, JPY and SEK - rather than redirecting you to a regional price.
- The service product sits on the same platform as sales, marketing and commerce, which is the reason large organisations pick it.
- The top tier bundles customer service, contact centre and employee service rather than selling them separately.
- Unmetered agent access at the Max tier, where most of this market meters AI per resolution.
- A genuine entry point at $25 for the CRM suite if you want the platform before the service product.
Trade-offs
- The dedicated service product starts at $195 an agent a month, not the $25 headline.
- Only the $25 Starter Suite can be billed monthly. Everything above it is annual.
- Pro Suite and above require a contract, stated on the pricing page.
- Transaction fees apply on top of the Starter and Pro Suite prices.
- Both suite tiers are described as starting prices, so the published figure is a floor.
- At $550 for the top tier this is several times the cost of anything else in this directory.
