Deskpro Review
Help desk for customer support, IT and HR teams, offered as cloud or self-managed.
- From:
- $39/agent/mo

Deskpro is a help desk from a company founded in 2001 that sells the same product two ways: Deskpro Cloud, hosted by Deskpro, or Deskpro Private, run on your own servers, a private cloud or a sovereign cloud. The self-hosted option is what puts it on a shortlist. For a DTC support team the catch is the entry price: agent minimums on every Cloud plan, and an AI tier that starts at ten seats.

What it does
- One inbox for email (your own addresses, SMTP, or linked Gmail/Outlook accounts), chat, phone, contact forms, Slack, Microsoft Teams, social, WhatsApp, SMS and reviews (pricing)
- Facebook, Instagram and voice each get their own product page in Deskpro's navigation (homepage)
- Built-in CRM view of the customer next to the ticket, plus workspace switching across several help desks (homepage)
- Automation: triggers, escalations, round robin, work shifts, follow-ups, auto-responses, macros, snippets, mass actions and bot flows (pricing)
- Help center with knowledge base, guides, news, community and file downloads; full CSS theming; 3, 10 or unlimited branded help centers by plan (pricing)
- 150+ built-in reports, custom reports and dashboards, CSAT surveys and data export (pricing)
- Integrations: Slack, Salesforce, HubSpot and Jira are named, plus Zapier, a REST API, webhooks and custom apps (homepage, pricing)
- Lite Agents can read tickets and add notes but cannot reply to customers: 50 on Professional, 1,000 on Enterprise, none on Team (pricing)
- Missing: no Shopify or other ecommerce integration is named on the pages we read, and Deskpro has no ecommerce or retail solution page in its menu. Check the Apps Marketplace before assuming agents can see an order
Pricing at a glance
| Plan | Billed monthly | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Team | $39 | $39/agent/month, minimum 5 agents. |
| Professional | $59 | $59/agent/month, minimum 10 agents. |
| Enterprise | $99 | $99/agent/month, minimum 25 agents. |
Prices are an agent a month, in US dollars. Source: deskpro.com/pricing, checked .
- Charged per agent per month, with a minimum seat count on every Cloud plan. The pricing page does not say whether these figures are monthly or annual rates, and we found no billing toggle (pricing)
- Team $39 per agent per month, billing basis not stated; 5-agent minimum, so $195 a month at least
- Professional $59 per agent per month, billing basis not stated; 10-agent minimum, so $590 a month at least
- Enterprise $99 per agent per month, billing basis not stated; 25-agent minimum, so $2,475 a month at least
- The tier gate that matters: Deskpro AI starts at Professional. A five-agent team that wants it goes from $195 to $590 a month, because it pays for ten seats. That is $118 per working agent
- Deskpro Private (self-hosted or VPC): no published prices, contact sales. Plans come with 10, 20, 35 or 50 agent licenses (private pricing)
- Extra charges are marked but not priced: implementation services on Team and Professional, a support SLA and custom contracts on Enterprise, and the Enterprise data-center upgrade (22 AWS regions)
- Volume, non-profit and education discounts are available on request
- The pricing page offers a self-guided tour and a contact form. It has no free-trial button and no checkout
AI pricing (not published separately)
- No per-resolution or per-interaction AI price appears anywhere on the pricing page. Deskpro AI is listed as part of Professional and Enterprise (pricing)
- Team lists "Chatbot"; Professional adds "AI-Powered Chatbot". The page does not say how the two differ
- Listed AI features: ticket summaries, draft responses, intent detection, sentiment analysis, tone enhancement, spelling and grammar, translation, and AI data sources
- Whether AI usage is capped, metered or unlimited is not stated. Ask before you sign, because "included" with no stated limit can turn into a usage charge later
- Private AI lets Deskpro Private customers connect a self-hosted or custom model so ticket data stays in their environment (homepage)
- AI Guardrails is marked "SOON" in the Cloud comparison but listed as included in the Private Enterprise and Enterprise VPC plans (private pricing). We have recorded the conflict
- What it can't do, as far as we can tell: the homepage describes drafting, summarizing and flagging, and says "every AI action is a suggestion". Nothing we read says the AI can cancel, refund or edit an order. The same page also says the chatbot "handles first contact" on routine queries, so check what the bot sends without an agent approving it
Before you commit
- Get the billing basis in writing. The page prints $39, $59 and $99 per agent per month and never says monthly or annual
- Seat minimums mean you pay for 5, 10 or 25 agents whether or not you have them
- "Powered by Deskpro" stays on your customer-facing pages on Team; white-labelling starts at Professional
- No uptime SLA is listed for Team. Professional lists 99.90% and Enterprise 99.99%
- Sandbox, HIPAA-compliant hosting and data centers outside the US, UK and EU are Enterprise only, with the data-center upgrade charged on top
- The feature comparison marks which plans get phone, WhatsApp, SMS and social with icons that our page reader could not see. Confirm your channels are on your plan, and ask whether voice and SMS carry carrier charges
- The homepage pitches Deskpro to B2B support, IT and HR teams. Its solutions menu lists government, healthcare, fintech and travel but no ecommerce, so expect onboarding material written for those teams rather than for a queue of order questions
Who should buy it, and who should skip it
Who should buy
- Support teams with a data-residency, sovereignty or self-hosting requirement, for example in healthcare or fintech
- Groups running several brands or storefronts from one instance who need separate help centers
- Teams of ten or more agents who want AI to draft replies and want a person to send every one of them
- Operations where the warehouse or fulfilment staff need to read tickets without a paid seat (Lite Agents, Professional and up)
Who should skip it
- DTC shops with fewer than five agents, because you pay for five anyway
- Teams of five to nine that want AI, because you pay for ten
- Shopify-first brands that want agents or AI to edit, cancel or refund orders from inside the ticket
- Buyers who want to start a self-serve trial today rather than go through sales
- Anyone comparing on AI cost per resolution, because Deskpro publishes none
How we checked this
Prices, plan contents and the feature comparison were read from Deskpro's Cloud pricing page (https://www.deskpro.com/pricing/, which canonicalises to /pricing/cloud) on 2026-10-06. That page shows the figures as plain text, but it does not state a billing basis, and its comparison table marks per-plan availability with icons that do not appear in the page text. Only rows with written values (seat minimums, help center counts, data centers, uptime SLA, Lite Agents, paid items) are used here. Deskpro Private plans were read from https://www.deskpro.com/pricing/private, and the homepage (https://www.deskpro.com) and About page (https://www.deskpro.com/about) were also checked, all on 2026-10-06. We did not check Deskpro's AI, voice, integrations, security or status pages, so channel pricing, the AI usage limits and the Shopify question remain open. A third-party rating claim on Deskpro's own homepage was ignored. No review-site text was used.
