HappyFox Review

Visit HappyFox

AI help desk with ticketing for customer, IT and HR support teams of any size.

From:
$29/agent/mo
Founded:
2011
HQ:
Southlake, US
Facts checked:

HappyFox is a ticketing help desk sold as the hub of a modular suite: the desk itself, then AI, a chatbot, live chat, voice, reporting and workflow automation, each priced as its own product. Its homepage pitches customer support alongside IT, HR and operations, and the customer logos lean toward schools, healthcare and internal IT rather than online retail. For a DTC team the question is less whether the desk works than how many separate line items it takes to get chat, AI and reporting onto one bill.

What it does

  • Email ticketing with SLA management, automation rules, satisfaction surveys and reporting, per the feature list on HappyFox's pricing pages
  • Knowledge base, internal knowledge base, multilingual knowledge base and a self-service portal
  • Routing, SLAs, automation and reporting are set up around your own process, per the homepage
  • Instagram and Facebook are connected as integrations; Dialpad and Aircall cover phone; Shopify, Salesforce, Jira, Slack and Microsoft Teams are on the integrations strip
  • Task management, asset management and agent scripting sit in the same feature list, a sign the product was built for IT and ops queues as well as customers
  • Security named on the homepage: data encryption, two-factor authentication, audit logs, granular access controls
  • Missing: the AI Contact Center, Autopilot, Chatbot, HappyFox AI and Workflows are not in the Help Desk price. HappyFox's FAQ calls them "separate products with their own pricing", and live chat ("web messaging") comes inside the Contact Center bundle
  • Not verified: what an agent can actually do to a Shopify order from inside the ticket. We could not read the Shopify integration page in this pass, so we make no claim either way

Prices are an agent a month, in US dollars.

  • All prices in US dollars, from the plan page. The pricing hub's "starting at $24 / agent / mo" is Basic billed annually; billed monthly it is $29
  • Billing terms: monthly or annual (FAQ: "Annual billing saves 20%")
  • Two pricing models: per agent, or unlimited agents for a flat annual fee with a yearly ticket allowance. HappyFox suggests the flat fee above roughly 20–25 agents
  • Overage beyond the unlimited-agent ticket allowance: not published
  • 14-day free trial on every plan, no credit card; downgrades take effect at the end of the billing cycle
  • Non-profit and education discount on every plan, amount not published
  • Enterprise PRO: custom pricing, contact sales
  • Conflict on HappyFox's own page: one FAQ answer says "You pay a monthly price for each support agent" and then says "all higher plans include unlimited agents" above Basic. The plan page treats per-agent and unlimited-agent as separate models. We could not resolve it; ask sales which one applies to the plan you are quoted

AI pricing (starting points published, split across several meters)

  • HappyFox AI (agent assist): starting at $14 per agent per month on the pricing hub, billing term not stated. The plan table on the AI page did not render as text, so ask what each tier includes
  • Chatbot on its own: from $9 per agent per month, no per-resolution fees, per the chatbot page. Inside the AI Contact Center bundle, resolutions are billed at $0.33 each. Ask which applies
  • Autopilot (AI agents that complete tasks end to end): "as low as 2¢ per successful action". "As low as" means the rate falls with volume, and the rate at your volume is not published
  • Workflows: starting at $199 per month, billing term not stated
  • AI Contact Center: from $99 per agent per month, billed annually, bundling Help Desk, chatbot, Autopilot, web messaging and Copilot, with chatbot resolutions, Autopilot actions and voice minutes billed on usage on top. Existing Help Desk customers can add it from $29 per agent per month. It is HappyFox's own fix for the modular bill, though the usage meters remain
  • Per-agent AI on top of a per-agent desk means each seasonal hire costs you twice. Check whether AI can go on a subset of seats
  • What HappyFox AI does: ticket summaries, copilot chat, a writing assistant, AI answers to customers, suggested resolutions, a queue for time-sensitive tickets, and knowledge-base article drafts built from past tickets
  • HappyFox says the AI runs with AWS, that no customer data is used for training and that nothing leaves its infrastructure. That is the vendor's claim; we have not seen the contract terms
  • Not verified: what counts as a "successful action" for Autopilot, whether it can cancel or edit a Shopify order, whether chatbot spend can be capped, and whether any AI is included in a Help Desk plan

Before you commit

  • Get the plan-by-feature table in writing. We could not read from page text which features sit on which plan
  • Price live chat before the trial ends. For most stores chat is the main channel, and here it is a separate product
  • Ask which plan includes SSO/SAML, compliance terms (SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR), custom data retention and dedicated support. The plan comparison did not render as text for us, so we could not confirm where they sit
  • Unlimited-agent plans are a flat annual fee, so there is no month-to-month exit on that model. Ask what happens when you go past the yearly ticket allowance, as no overage rate is published
  • Basic's 5-agent cap means hiring a sixth agent forces a plan change mid-contract
  • A status page exists, but we did not read its incident history this time. We saw no uptime commitment on the pages we read
  • The homepage promises 24/7 support. We did not see support hours broken out by plan

Who should buy it, and who should skip it

Who should buy

  • Organisations running customer support next to IT, HR or facilities queues that want all of them with one vendor
  • Teams above roughly 20 agents with steady volume, who can use the flat-fee unlimited-agent model and stop counting seats
  • Email-heavy support with a knowledge base doing the deflection
  • Buyers who want to add AI one piece at a time instead of paying for a bundle up front

Who should skip it

  • Shopify-first DTC brands that need order edits inside the ticket or AI that changes orders. Nothing on the pages we read shows either
  • Chat-first stores that do not want live chat billed as an extra product
  • Small teams that want the whole bill on one price list: the desk's plans are public, but chat and AI are priced as separate products
  • Anyone who wants a single AI meter. Here it is per agent, per resolution and per action, depending on the product

How we checked this

Everything here was read from HappyFox's own pages on 2026-10-07: the homepage, the pricing hub, the Help Desk plan page and the HappyFox AI page. Help Desk plan prices were verified against the rendered plan page on 2026-10-09. The AI plan table contained no figures as text, so the HappyFox AI starting price of $14 per agent per month comes from the pricing hub. The AI Contact Center and chatbot prices come from the AI Contact Center pricing page and the chatbot page; the remaining "starting at" figures come from the pricing hub, which does not state a billing term for them. We did not read the Shopify integration, live chat, status, security or company pages this pass, so channel depth, Shopify order actions, incident history, headquarters and founding year are not confirmed here. Third-party rating badges on HappyFox's homepage were ignored. No review-site text was used.
