HelpCenter is a Shopify customer service app from Shark Byte Inc. It puts four tools in one subscription: a ticketing help desk, live chat, an FAQ page builder and product-page tabs. You pay a flat price for the account, not for each agent. Plans differ by how many tickets you get each month, and the top published plan stops at 1,000. It is built for small stores, and the ticket cap is the thing to plan around.

What it does
- One inbox for email, live chat and Facebook Messenger
- Shopify order actions inside the help desk: duplicate, cancel, refund, create an order, change the shipping address, and create a draft order
- Contact history, templates (macros), tags, signatures and internal comments
- Auto-responses and automations for ticket assignment, replies to repeat questions, and tagging
- Stats per agent and for the whole team
- Live chat with operating hours and a contact form for after-hours messages. Also includes rule-based chatbots (listed as "Chatbots (automations)"), quick replies, snooze, and visitor details (email, name, number of orders)
- FAQ builder with sections, categories and a contact form. Paid plans add multilingual FAQs, import and export, article backups, article ratings and removal of HelpCenter branding
- Product-page tabs come in the same subscription. They are not a support tool, but you pay for them either way
- Android app
- Missing: phone, SMS, WhatsApp and Instagram are not listed as channels on the pages we read, and no iOS app is mentioned

- Flat price per account, not per agent. Paid plans include unlimited agents
- All three paid plans list the same features. The only difference is the monthly ticket allowance, so you upgrade for volume, never to unlock a feature
- Free: $0, 10 tickets a month, 1 agent, 5 FAQ articles, 1 chatbot, basic templates, team-wide stats only, and HelpCenter branding stays on the FAQ page
- Basic: $5.99 a month billed monthly, or $4.99 a month billed annually ($59.99 a year). 50 tickets a month
- Standard: $19.99 a month billed monthly, or $16.66 a month billed annually ($199.99 a year). 300 tickets a month
- Advanced: $49.99 a month billed monthly, or $41.58 a month billed annually ($499.99 a year). 1,000 tickets a month
- Annual billing saves about 17% on every paid plan
- Cost per included ticket, billed monthly: about $0.12 on Basic, $0.07 on Standard and $0.05 on Advanced
- 14-day free trial on every paid plan
- No plan above 1,000 tickets a month is published, and there is no contact-sales tier
- The vendor's figures disagree slightly: Advanced shows $41.58 a month billed annually, but $499.99 divided by 12 is $41.67
AI pricing (none published)
- The only AI feature named on the pricing page is "ChatGPT FAQ Generation", listed under FAQ features. The page does not say which plans include it or whether it costs extra
- The chatbots are listed as "Chatbots (automations)". Nothing on the pages we read describes AI that replies to customers on its own
- No charge per AI resolution or per AI interaction is published
- What it can't do, as far as the vendor's pages show: no AI that resolves tickets or changes an order. The order actions are for agents
Before you commit
- The pages we read don't say what happens when you reach the monthly ticket allowance. New tickets could be blocked, held, or trigger an upgrade. A cap sized for an average month is the one that bites in peak season, so get the answer in writing before Black Friday and Cyber Monday
- 1,000 tickets a month is the top published plan. If you grow past it, there is no next plan on the page
- The vendor presents HelpCenter as a Shopify app. The pricing page describes FAQ export as a way to move content to another Shopify store. We could not confirm support for any other platform
- The homepage says you can handle customers from multiple stores. It does not say whether each store needs its own plan
- Mobile: an Android app is listed and an iOS app is not mentioned
- The two pages we read cover none of these: security certifications, data residency, uptime commitments or support hours. A status page and a changelog are linked in the site footer, but we did not check either
Who should buy it, and who should skip it
Who should buy
- Shopify stores handling up to a few hundred tickets a month that want a help desk, chat and FAQ page in one inexpensive app
- Store owners who want agents to refund, cancel or change an address from inside the ticket without paying per seat
- Shops that add temporary staff for peak season, since adding agents does not change the price on paid plans
Who should skip it
- Stores above 1,000 tickets a month, or close to it
- Teams that support customers by phone, SMS, WhatsApp or Instagram
- Anyone who wants AI that answers customers or acts on orders
- Stores not on Shopify
- Buyers who need security or compliance documents before signing
- Teams whose agents work from iPhones
How we checked this
We read prices, ticket allowances and plan features from HelpCenter's own pricing page on 2026-10-07. That page shows both monthly and annual figures in its text. We matched each figure to its billing basis using the page's own "Billed annually at" totals. We have no screenshot of either toggle state, so we have not confirmed which one the page opens on. The product description comes from HelpCenter's homepage, also checked on 2026-10-07. We could not fetch HelpCenter's feature pages, changelog or status page in this pass. As a result, the following are unverified and labelled as such above: what happens at the ticket cap, iOS availability, AI plan placement, and security posture. We did not use the customer quotes on HelpCenter's homepage. No review-site text was used.
