HelpCrunch Review
Customer communication platform combining live chat, shared inbox and knowledge base.

HelpCrunch is a chat-first customer communication platform: a website and in-app chat widget, a shared inbox, a knowledge base and AI Agents, plus email campaigns and popups for marketing. Its footer pitches it as an alternative to Intercom and Zendesk, and its homepage promises unlimited contacts and chats. That marketing half matters when you evaluate it. You are buying a tool that a growth team will also want to configure, and the plans are metered on seats, widgets, channels and email volume rather than contacts.

What it does
- One inbox for live chat, email and messaging apps: WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook Messenger, Telegram and Viber. The integrations page lists Twitter as coming soon
- Support email reaches the inbox when you forward your team address to HelpCrunch, according to its shared inbox page
- Routing rules, private notes, snooze, saved replies, and reports on team performance, workload and customer satisfaction
- A chat widget you can style to match your brand. Plans cap the number of widgets: 1 on Basic, 5 on Pro, unlimited on Unlimited
- Auto messages and chatbot flows that ask qualifying questions, tag the customer and route the chat
- A knowledge base with a WYSIWYG editor and SEO settings. It runs as a stand-alone help center or inside the widget, and Basic supports one language only
- Email marketing for sequences and one-off newsletters, plus popups on site
- Mobile SDKs for iOS, Android and React Native, so app teams can offer support inside the app. Agent apps for iOS and Android are linked from the site footer
- JavaScript API, REST API and webhooks. Zapier and Apix-Drive fill gaps in the native integrations, which include Slack and Google Analytics. HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive and Jira are listed as coming soon
- Free help moving your data from a previous tool, according to the vendor
- Missing: a phone or SMS channel (the integrations page lists Aircall and Twilio as coming soon), and any way to see or act on an ecommerce order from inside a conversation. HelpCrunch's Shopify setup guide installs the chat widget by pasting its code into your theme, and nothing more

- Basic: $15 per team member a month billed monthly, $12 billed annually
- Pro: $25 per team member a month billed monthly, $20 billed annually
- Unlimited: $620 a month billed monthly, $495 billed annually, flat, with unlimited team members and 50,000 emails
- Basic and Pro scale per seat. Their team-member selector stops at 20, and 20 Pro seats cost $500 billed monthly ($400 billed annually), so a team growing past 20 agents lands on Unlimited
- Basic and Pro include no emails at the base price. HelpCrunch counts manual replies from the inbox toward email volume, along with campaigns, blasts and unread chat messages resent by email
- Adding email raises the plan price. At one team member, Basic with 1,000 emails is $29 billed monthly ($23 billed annually), and Pro with 5,000 emails is $45 billed monthly ($36 billed annually)
- Basic leaves out WhatsApp, the chatbot, AI Agents, custom roles and branding removal. Its automation covers closing or deleting inactive chats and sending rating requests and transcripts; rules that assign chats arrive on Pro
- Messenger channel caps: 15 on Basic, 25 on Pro, 100 on Unlimited, counting each Facebook Page, Instagram account, Telegram bot, Viber bot or WhatsApp number
- Contacts and chats are unlimited on every plan, per the homepage
- Free trial, no credit card required
AI pricing
- AI Agents answer customers from content you train them on, such as custom answers and knowledge base articles, across websites, messengers and mobile apps. They start on Pro
- Pro: 5 AI Agents, 50 AI conversations a month, 200 AI data sources, 30 days of AI analytics history
- Unlimited: unlimited AI Agents, 100 AI conversations a month, 500 AI data sources, 90 days of AI analytics history
- Extra AI conversations are monthly extensions: 100 for $29 a month billed monthly ($23.20 billed annually), 1,000 for $200 ($160 billed annually), 10,000 for $1,000 ($800 billed annually)
- Extra AI data sources: 100 for $5 a month billed monthly ($4 billed annually)
- AI Editor, for agents and knowledge base writers: 20 requests per team member on Basic and 50 per team member on Pro, pooled across the team; unlimited on Unlimited. It polishes drafts, translates, changes tone and shortens text
- What it cannot do: nothing on HelpCrunch's pages shows AI Agents cancelling, refunding or editing an order, or reading anything from Shopify
Before you commit
- Email: on Basic and Pro the base price buys no email volume, and replies sent from the inbox count against it. If customers email you, price the email add-on, or Unlimited, before the trial ends
- AI volume: 50 included conversations on Pro, or 100 on the $620 Unlimited plan, is a pilot, not a deployment (reviewer's opinion). If the AI is to take 1,000 more chats a month, budget $200 a month billed monthly on top of seats
- Ecommerce: no order data in the conversation. The Shopify entry on the integrations page puts the chat widget on your store and stops there, so agents will switch to Shopify for every "where is my order" message (reviewer's opinion)
- Phone: HelpCrunch has no calling of its own and its Aircall integration is listed as coming soon, so if calls are a meaningful share of your volume, you are running a second tool
- Basic suits a one-person shop at most (reviewer's opinion): it has no rules for assigning chats, no WhatsApp and no chatbot
- Ownership: chat-led platforms that bundle popups and newsletters tend to end up with marketing setting widget behaviour. Settle who controls the widget before launch, or support will be fighting auto messages it did not write (reviewer's opinion)
- Company details: the footer address is 1811 Silverside Rd, Wilmington, DE. That is a Delaware corporate address, and it may not be where the team works. Founding year and operating location were not verified
Who should buy it, and who should skip it
Who should buy
- SaaS and mobile-app businesses that want chat inside the product through the iOS, Android or React Native SDKs
- Small chat-led teams on Pro that want live chat, a help center, a chatbot and popups in one bill rather than three tools
- Teams leaving a tool that charges by contact, since contacts are unlimited on every plan by the vendor's own account
- Teams of around 20 agents that also send email: 20 Pro seats already cost $500 billed monthly, and Unlimited's flat $620 adds unlimited seats and 50,000 emails
Who should skip it
- Shopify brands that need agents, or the AI, to look up or change orders from inside the conversation
- Phone-first support teams, since HelpCrunch has no phone channel and its Aircall integration is only listed as coming soon
- Email-heavy teams on a seat budget: Basic and Pro include no email, and inbox replies count toward the cap
- Teams that want AI to resolve tickets by taking actions rather than answering from articles
How we checked this
We rendered HelpCrunch's pricing page (https://helpcrunch.com/pricing.html) in Chrome on 2026-10-12, read it billed monthly and billed annually, and used its team-member and email selectors to read the price at each step. The same day we read the homepage (https://helpcrunch.com), the integrations page (https://helpcrunch.com/integrations.html), the chatbot page (https://helpcrunch.com/chatbot.html), the shared inbox page (https://helpcrunch.com/shared-inbox.html), the about page (https://helpcrunch.com/company/about.html), HelpCrunch's Shopify installation guide (https://docs.helpcrunch.com/en/channels/helpcrunch-installation-guide-shopify) and the integrations and AI Editor sections of HelpCrunch's docs (https://docs.helpcrunch.com). On 2026-10-12 the integrations page marked HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Jira, Twitter, Aircall and Twilio "COMING SOON", so none of them is described here as live. The AI Editor allowance was read by moving the team-member selector: 20, 100 and 400 requests on Basic and 50, 250 and 1,000 on Pro at 1, 5 and 20 seats. Customer testimonials and the unattributed star ratings on HelpCrunch's pages were not used. No review-site text was used.
