HelpEcho Review

Visit HelpEcho

Shopify help desk combining ticketing, an AI chatbot and a knowledge base.

From:
$5.99/ticket
Facts checked:

HelpECHO is a ticketing help desk sold as a Shopify app. You install it from the Shopify App Store and point your support address at it. Customer emails then become tickets in a shared dashboard, alongside a branded portal, a knowledge base and an AI chat widget. It is priced for small stores, from free to $99.99 a month billed monthly. It caps both tickets and AI use, and most of what a buyer needs to know sits in what the vendor has not published about those two caps.

What it does

  • Email to ticket: each email to your support address becomes a ticket that keeps its history and attachments, and replies sync back to email
  • Mailboxes per plan: 1 on Free, 3 on Starter, 5 on Basic, 10 on Pro, 15 on Advance
  • AI Chatbot Widget and Support Portal Widget for the storefront. Customers can create and track their own tickets in a branded portal
  • Knowledge Base Portal, plus an AI Article Writer that drafts help-center articles
  • AI Reply Writer for agent drafts
  • Rules that route tickets, send notifications and automate routine tasks. Also saved response templates, internal notes and ticket assignment
  • Unlimited agents with custom roles and permissions, according to the homepage FAQ
  • Reports cover resolution times, agent performance, CSAT and peak hours, and the data can be exported
  • The homepage says “email, chat, and social media” but names no social network. No plan on the pricing page lists a social channel
  • Missing: phone, SMS and WhatsApp are not mentioned on any page we read. Neither page says agents can see or act on the Shopify order from inside the ticket

Prices are a month, in US dollars. Source: helpecho.com/pricing, checked .

  • Each plan has one price per store, with unlimited agents per the FAQ. There are two monthly meters: tickets and “AI Operations”
  • Free $0 a month: 10 tickets, 10 AI Operations, 1 mailbox
  • Starter $5.99 billed monthly, or $59.90 billed annually (shown as $4.99 a month): 50 tickets, 50 AI Operations, 3 mailboxes
  • Basic $19.99 billed monthly, or $199.90 billed annually (shown as $16.66 a month): 300 tickets, 100 AI Operations, 5 mailboxes
  • Pro $49.99 billed monthly, or $499.90 billed annually (shown as $41.66 a month): 1,000 tickets, 500 AI Operations, 10 mailboxes
  • Advance $99.99 billed monthly, or $999.90 billed annually (shown as $83.33 a month): unlimited tickets, 1,000 AI Operations, 15 mailboxes
  • On every plan the annual price is ten months of the monthly price, which is the “save 17%” on the toggle
  • Every plan card prints the same nine-item feature list, and the Free card says “all core features”. We read page text, not icons, so check that nothing is greyed out on the lower tiers
  • No overage price is published for either tickets or AI Operations

AI pricing (an allowance, not a price)

  • AI comes inside the plan as a monthly allowance of AI Operations: 10, 50, 100, 500 and 1,000 from Free to Advance
  • The pricing page does not define an AI Operation. It does not say whether a chatbot conversation, a single chatbot message, a drafted reply or a generated article counts as one
  • Basic gives 100 operations against 300 tickets. If every chatbot exchange counts, a store that puts the widget on every page could use that up early in the month
  • No price per operation, top-up or overage rate is published. Nothing says what the chatbot does once the allowance runs out
  • What it can't do, as far as the vendor's pages go: nothing we read claims the AI can look up, cancel, edit or refund a Shopify order. The AI features listed are a chatbot, a reply writer and an article writer

Before you commit

  • The vendor's own pages disagree on tickets. The homepage FAQ promises “unlimited tickets regardless of your plan” with no extra charges. The pricing page caps every plan except Advance at 10, 50, 300 or 1,000 a month, and labels Advance's unlimited tickets “(New)”. Plan around the pricing page and get the answer in writing
  • Nothing says what happens when you hit the ticket cap. New emails might stop converting, wait in a queue, or force an upgrade. If your volume triples over Black Friday, ask this before peak season, not during it
  • The plan buttons send you to the Shopify App Store to install and pick a plan. We did not take prices from that listing. Check that the plan screen at install shows the figures above before you approve the charge
  • The homepage claims 99.9% uptime and 24/7 support coverage. We found no status page and no SLA document, and the FAQ describes support as email and chat with no hours stated
  • On security, the homepage claims GDPR compliance, “industry-standard encryption” and “regular audits”. None of the pages we read mentioned SOC 2, HIPAA, SSO or where data is stored
  • The homepage's “Industry Experts” quotes are general remarks about customer support from Shopify consultants and partners. They do not mention HelpECHO. We found no customer case studies
  • The footer's About, Service and FAQs links point to malformed addresses (http://About and similar), so there was no company page we could read

Who should buy it, and who should skip it

Who should buy

  • Shopify stores handling up to a few hundred support emails a month that want tickets, a customer portal and a help center for under $20 billed monthly
  • Owner-operators moving off a shared Gmail inbox, where the realistic alternative is no help desk at all
  • Stores that bring in temporary staff for peaks, since the FAQ says agents are not limited and pricing is per plan

Who should skip it

  • Stores not on Shopify, because it installs through the Shopify App Store
  • Teams that support customers by phone, SMS or WhatsApp
  • Teams that need agents or AI to edit, cancel or refund orders from the ticket. Neither page claims either can
  • Anyone who needs SOC 2, SSO or a published uptime record
  • Stores whose peak month would go over their plan's ticket cap, until HelpECHO says in writing what happens at the cap

How we checked this

Prices, allowances and mailbox limits were read from HelpECHO's own pricing page on 2026-10-07. The page text contains both the Pay Monthly and Pay Yearly prices, so no figure was inferred. We read text rather than a screenshot, though, so we could not confirm whether any feature is greyed out on the lower plans. Features, channels, support and security claims come from the homepage, also checked on 2026-10-07. We did not read the documentation at helpecho.com/docs, the privacy policy or any company page, and the vendor's About link is broken. So HQ, founding year, the definition of an AI Operation and what happens at the ticket cap are all unverified. The homepage and the pricing page contradict each other on ticket limits; we recorded the conflict and used the pricing-page figures. No review-site text was used.
