Issuetrak Review
Issue-tracking help desk for IT, support, HR and facilities, cloud or on-premises.
- From:
- $75/agent/mo billed annually
- Founded:
- 2001
Issuetrak is a ticketing and issue-tracking system that has shipped since 2001 and now sells itself as "service operations software": one system shared by IT, HR, facilities, finance and customer support, with one audit trail across all of it. It is still sold as an on-premises licence as well as a cloud subscription, and it charges per agent while end users submit and follow requests free. It is built for complaint and request tracking in regulated organisations, not for a DTC brand's order inbox, and that is where the gaps show.

What it does
- Email-to-ticket through incoming email processing, plus a public knowledge base portal with full-text search
- SMS appears on the feature list as notifications, not as a conversation channel
- Routing without add-ons: auto-assignment, round-robin, out-of-office reassignment, scheduled issues, substatus rules
- Task builder with conditional flows, dependencies and due dates, for work that needs several people before it closes
- Multiple SLA policies, breach notifications, custom report builder, dashboards, export to CSV, Excel or HTML, all on the one plan
- Every issue keeps its own history, and permission, workflow and group changes are logged separately for auditors
- Private fields and restricted search keep PHI, PII or legal-hold data off general views
- End users are uncapped and can be granted 50+ permissions: search, comment, run reports and complete tasks without a paid seat
- White-labelling, dark mode and WCAG/screen-reader support are included
- Integrations named in the site navigation: Zapier, Slack, Microsoft, Salesforce, plus an API
- Missing: no social or messaging channels (Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp) and no voice channel on the 100+ item feature list; no ecommerce platform among the named integrations; live chat, CSAT surveys and webforms are paid add-ons
Pricing at a glance
| Plan | Billed annually | Licence | What you get |

| On-Premises | – | $1,091 once | $1091/agent one-time license. |
Prices in US dollars. Source: issuetrak.com/pricing, checked .
- One plan, two ways to deploy, same feature set. Priced per agent, 3-agent minimum on both
- Cloud: $75 per agent per month, billed annually
- Cloud billed monthly: "available on request", rate not published. Contact sales
- Cloud floor: 3 agents is $225 a month, $2,700 a year, billed annually
- On-Premises: $1,091 per agent, one-time licence, then $218 per agent per year for maintenance (support and upgrades)
- On-Premises floor: $3,273 one-time for 3 agents, then $654 a year maintenance. The page does not say whether the first year of maintenance is due at purchase
- Implementation: a one-time fee on top of either option, amount not published. Contact sales
- Add-ons, all quoted separately and unpublished: Asset Management, Billing, Chat, Identity Management/SSO, Surveys, Webforms. Contact sales
- An agent is anyone who resolves, assigns or manages work, or submits a ticket on behalf of someone else. A rep who logs phone complaints for customers needs a seat
- Licence arithmetic per agent: cloud costs $1,800 over two years billed annually; on-prem costs $1,309 to $1,527 depending on when maintenance starts, before your own servers and the admin time to run them
- The pricing FAQ contradicts the plan card: it calls the on-prem licence "$91 per agent per month", while the card says $1,091 one-time. The footer also links a "Cloud+" plan that the pricing page does not show
AI pricing
- No Issuetrak upcharge for AI. You bring your own LLM key, so the model usage is billed to your AI provider account, not Issuetrak's invoice
- Named features are agent-assist only: Summarize Issues and AI Note Assistant
- Each AI feature can be switched off at site level; Issuetrak says behaviour is the same in its cloud and inside your firewall
- What it can't do: nothing on the pages we read describes AI that answers customers, deflects tickets or takes an action on its own
- Availability is unclear. The pricing page says "AI, when available"; the homepage says "AI launching at no extra cost" while listing the two features. Ask which are shipping today
- Air-gapped buyers should ask how a bring-your-own-key model works with no external connectivity; the pages read do not say
Before you commit
- Chat is an add-on with no published price. If chat carries real volume for you, get that quote first, because the $75 figure does not include it
- Post-resolution CSAT surveys are also an add-on
- SSO is listed twice: the homepage lists AD, AD FS and OAuth/OpenID Connect single sign-on under security controls, the pricing page lists Identity Management/SSO as a paid add-on. Get in writing which parts are included
- The "no paywall" promise covers core ticketing. For a customer service team, chat, surveys and possibly SSO sit outside it
- Cloud runs on AWS with a single-tenant database per customer, in US and Canada data centres, with a stated RPO of 6 hours and RTO of 4 hours. No EU hosting region is stated, so EU data residency means on-prem
- Compliance claimed on the homepage: SOC 2 Type II, GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA-ready with a BAA available; TOTP MFA and CAC/smart-card login
- No uptime percentage on the pages we read
- Sales-led buying: evaluation starts with a 30-minute session and a trial environment Issuetrak configures for you, not a self-serve signup
- Support: 24/7 US-based human support on every plan, per the homepage; the sales line is Monday to Friday
Who should buy it, and who should skip it
Who should buy
- Public-sector, healthcare and finance teams handling complaints where policy demands on-prem or air-gapped hosting
- Small agent teams facing large requester populations, such as school districts, credit unions and hospitals, where per-requester pricing would sink the budget
- Manufacturers running post-sale service, parts and CAPA tickets in the same system as other departments
- Teams that want audit history and SLA policies on the only plan, and AI off unless they turn it on
Who should skip it
- Shopify and other DTC brands: no ecommerce integration is named, so order lookups and refunds happen in another tab
- Teams whose customers write in on Instagram, Messenger or WhatsApp
- Anyone buying AI to resolve conversations rather than summarise them
- Teams of one or two agents, who pay for a third seat to meet the minimum
- Buyers who want month-to-month cloud billing at a published price without a sales call
How we checked this
Plan prices, the agent definition, add-on list and AI billing terms were read from the text of Issuetrak's pricing page on 2026-10-07; deployment, security, compliance, support and AI feature claims were read from Issuetrak's homepage on the same date. The plan figures appear in the page text; the cost estimator on the same page is drawn in JavaScript and showed $0 in our capture, so we did not use it. We could not open Issuetrak's security page, AI page, add-on pages, release notes, integration pages or status page for this draft, so compliance and AI claims rest on the homepage alone and no uptime record was checked. Where Issuetrak's pages contradict each other, on the on-prem licence figure, the "Cloud+" plan, SSO and AI availability, we recorded the conflict rather than the more flattering reading. No review-site text was used.
