Email-first ticketing system for IT and customer support, cloud or self-hosted.

Facts checked:

Jitbit Helpdesk is an email-first ticketing system. You can rent it as SaaS or buy a perpetual licence and run it on your own servers. Jitbit's homepage pitches it to IT support teams and sysadmins first, and the product shows it: asset management, Active Directory and scheduled maintenance tickets come as standard, but there is no Shopify integration on the integrations page. For a small ecommerce team, the real question is whether a cheap, tidy email desk is worth giving up order context inside the ticket.

What it does

  • Turns email (IMAP, Exchange, O365, SMTP), the web portal, the live chat widget, the API and WhatsApp into tickets in one inbox
  • WhatsApp works both ways: agent replies on the ticket go back to the customer in WhatsApp
  • The chat widget handles live chat or takes offline messages when nobody is on
  • Customer portal where customers log in to see ticket history and status, plus a public or private knowledge base and an ideas forum
  • An "if this, then that" automation engine, SLAs and reminders, canned responses, custom statuses, custom fields and ticket templates
  • Agent collision detection, merging and splitting of tickets, assigning one ticket to several agents, time tracking, asset tracking and recurring scheduled tickets
  • Native iOS and Android apps, 25 interface languages, dark mode, custom CSS/JavaScript and a custom domain
  • SAML SSO, Active Directory, Login with Google or Microsoft, role-based permissions limited by category or company, and audit logs
  • Integrations include Slack, Microsoft Teams, Jira, GitHub, Zapier, Power BI, WordPress and Stripe. The Stripe integration shows a customer's subscription status, plan and recent charges on the ticket
  • Reports with a custom report builder, a live dashboard, a Kanban view and Excel/CSV export
  • Missing: no Shopify integration on the integrations page, and no Instagram, Facebook, phone or SMS channel on the features list
  • Missing: CSAT is not on the features list. The documented route is the SurveyMonkey integration, which puts survey links in outgoing emails

Prices in US dollars. Source: jitbit.com/pricing, checked .

  • SaaS pricing is by plan, and each plan includes a fixed number of agents. End users and tickets are unlimited on every plan
  • Freelancer $29 billed monthly, $24.92/mo billed annually: 1 agent
  • Startup $69 billed monthly, $58.25/mo billed annually: 4 agents, unlimited AI credits
  • Company $129 billed monthly, $108.25/mo billed annually: 7 agents. Adds downloadable backup and removes "powered by Jitbit"
  • Enterprise $249 billed monthly, $208.25/mo billed annually: 9 agents, then "$29 extra". The page does not say whether that is per agent per month, or what it costs on annual billing
  • By our arithmetic, annual billing comes to about $299, $699, $1,299 and $2,499 a year, roughly 14-16% below paying monthly
  • The pricing page leads with the monthly figure. The annual rate is the smaller link underneath each plan
  • Administrators count as agents, so whoever configures the desk takes a seat. On Freelancer, that is the only seat
  • The tier steps are where the bill moves: a 5th agent takes you from $69 to $129 billed monthly, and an 8th from $129 to $249
  • Going over your agent limit does not lock you out. Jitbit says the desk keeps working and shows an upgrade reminder
  • Ticket subscribers are free. They can read a ticket and reply to the customer on it, but cannot see other tickets or reports, and cannot be assigned
  • Annual plans can be paid by purchase order or wire transfer
  • Self-hosted: perpetual licence at $2,490 one-time for 10 agents ($249 per agent). Every plan has every feature, and plans differ only by agent count
  • Self-hosted prices for 25, 50, 100 and unlimited agents sit behind a slider whose figures were not in the page text. Contact sales or check the rendered page
  • Self-hosted renewal: 12 months of updates and support are included. Renewing costs 50% of the plan's current price if you renew before expiry or within 60 days after, and 80% after that. The software keeps working if you never renew
  • Trials: 21-day SaaS trial with no credit card. The self-hosted trial download does not expire

AI pricing

  • SaaS: "Unlimited AI credits" is listed on Startup, Company and Enterprise. Jitbit publishes no per-use meter
  • Freelancer does not list AI credits, but the self-hosted pricing page says SaaS AI features are "included at no extra cost". The two pages conflict, so ask before choosing Freelancer for the AI
  • Self-hosted: AI is a $999 one-time add-on with 1 year of updates. It runs as a Docker Compose stack, needs Helpdesk v11.22 or newer, and works with OpenAI, Azure or Bedrock, or a bundled local embedding model if data must stay in-house
  • What it does: the homepage lists suggested replies, ticket routing and auto-categorisation, and the SaaS page adds AI replies and triage
  • What it can't do, as documented: nothing on the pages we read says it acts on an order, subscription or account. It answers, drafts and routes
  • Not verified: whether "unlimited" has a fair-use limit, and which AI models the SaaS plans use

Before you commit

  • Jitbit's own pages contradict each other on seats. The homepage says "flat pricing, not per-seat", but every SaaS plan caps agents and Enterprise lists "$29 extra" beyond 9 agents
  • The self-hosted page advertises "SaaS from $24/month". The SaaS page says $24.92/mo billed annually or $29 billed monthly
  • HIPAA compliance and a BAA appear only on Enterprise, at $249 billed monthly
  • Downloadable backup starts at Company. Below that, getting your data out means CSV export or the API, so plan your exit before you need one
  • No Shopify integration is listed. Getting order data into the ticket means building your own integration through the API
  • Per the homepage, every request gets a unique trackable ID, and customers can track tickets in a portal. If you want replies that read like a personal email, check how that looks to customers during the trial
  • WhatsApp is listed as an integration. We did not verify what setup it needs or whether Meta charges you anything on top
  • The homepage says the SaaS runs on AWS, but the hosting region and any data-residency choice are not stated on the pages we read
  • Not checked: published uptime figure, status page history and SOC 2 status. Ask before signing

Who should buy it, and who should skip it

Who should buy

  • Email-heavy support teams of 2-7 agents who want a predictable bill, not a per-seat climb
  • Teams that must self-host on Windows, Linux or Docker, including those who need AI on their own hardware
  • Businesses running internal IT and customer support in one tool, with categories keeping the queues apart
  • Subscription businesses on Stripe that want billing context on the ticket
  • Teams where sales or engineering staff only chip in on the odd ticket, since subscribers do not use a seat

Who should skip it

  • Shopify and DTC brands where most tickets are about an order and agents need to see it in the ticket
  • Brands whose customers reach them mainly through Instagram or Facebook DMs, phone or SMS
  • Teams that want AI to cancel, refund or edit orders rather than draft replies
  • Teams that want native CSAT reporting without wiring up a survey tool
  • SaaS teams growing past 9 agents who need the per-agent cost confirmed in writing before they commit

How we checked this

SaaS prices were read on 2026-10-07 from the page text of Jitbit's SaaS pricing page and its /pricing/ alias, where both monthly and annual figures appear without a toggle. Self-hosted prices came from the self-hosted pricing page, where only the 10-agent default appeared in the text. Agent rules came from Jitbit's agents explainer. Features, channels and integrations were checked against the homepage, the features list and the integrations page, all on 2026-10-07. The 21-day SaaS trial with no credit card was confirmed on Jitbit's trial page on 2026-10-12. The URL https://www.jitbit.com/helpdesk/pricing/ returned a 404. Before publication we did not read Jitbit's AI feature page, status page or security documentation, so uptime, SOC 2, data region and the AI limits above remain unverified. Where Jitbit's pages contradicted each other, on seat pricing, the SaaS starting price and AI on Freelancer, we recorded the conflict rather than picking the flattering version. No review-site text was used.
